Terms of use

Effective September 30, 2026

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Brault & Barnes Design, LLC, the operator of the Self911 app, self911.com, and Self911 location sharing. By using a Self911 service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Not an emergency service

Self911 does not provide emergency services. It does not dispatch responders, route 911 calls, automatically transmit your location to a public safety answering point, or replace 911. If you are in immediate danger or need emergency help, call 911 or the emergency number for your location.

Self911 provides likely contact information for a location. An “Emergency PSAP” result is backup contact information for a selected place and is not a promise that the listed center serves you, will accept a direct call, or can dispatch assistance. Contact names, phone numbers, jurisdictions, availability, distances, directions, and location descriptions can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Verify important information with the responsible organization.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the location you enter or select, deciding which organization to contact, and using the service lawfully. Do not use Self911 to impersonate another person, harass or endanger anyone, interfere with the service, bypass access controls, scrape the service at disruptive scale, or submit unlawful or malicious content.

Location sharing

Only share a location that you are authorized to share. Anyone who receives a share code or link may be able to view the shared location, and recipients may copy or redistribute it. You are responsible for choosing recipients and ending a share when it is no longer needed. Do not rely on a sharing duration as a substitute for pressing Stop when immediate revocation matters.

External services

Self911 may link to or open Apple Maps, telephone service, emergency and non-emergency organizations, OpenStreetMap tiles, and other third-party services. Self911 does not control those services, their availability, or their content. Your use of them is governed by their terms and policies.

Ownership and feedback

Self911 and its licensors retain their rights in the services, software, design, and original content. Public records, organization names, map data, and other third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights and licenses. If you send feedback or correction information, you allow Self911 to use it to evaluate and improve the services without an obligation to compensate you.

Availability and changes

Self911 may change, suspend, or discontinue features and may restrict use that threatens users, the service, or others. The services may be unavailable or contain errors. These terms may be updated by publishing a revised version and effective date.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by applicable law, the services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, availability, or uninterrupted operation. Self911 is not responsible for decisions by emergency services, public agencies, businesses, map providers, recipients, or other third parties.

To the extent allowed by applicable law, Self911 will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, loss of opportunity, or harm caused by reliance on contact or location information. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Applicable law and contact

Applicable law governs these terms without overriding consumer rights that cannot be waived. Questions about these terms may be sent to our monitored support mailbox at support@self911.com.
